We need to stop treating AI as a magic wand and start treating it as a tool that requires standardized input.

For managers, the goal should be to bridge the gap between the shop floor and the supplier's output. By enforcing standardized data protocols—like consistent barcode formats and packaging specs—you create a foundation where AI can actually optimize routing and inventory levels. Without this groundwork, you are just adding a fancy layer of software on top of broken processes.
